EV Charging Station
Types of Chargers
Plug in Type

Pros: The plug in type of chargers are great for people who already own a plug in type chargers or for people who want to be able to plug in different chargers or to have the option to plug and unplug the charger anytime they want.

Cons: The draw back to this type of charging is that they are a bit more expensive because they require one more wire to install (Neutral). These plugs types are rated for outdoor use, but not always perfectly waterproof. the last drawback is that the chargers can easily be unplugged and stolen if installed outdoors or unprotected areas.

Hardwired Stations
Pros: Hardwiring a charging station is much more simple and requires one less wire (Neutral) to pull. This type of installations are a lot better looking (to me) and have much better weather resistance. More popular charging units like "Charge point" and "Tesla" provide unique designs to manage the long chords and colored LEDs to provide status of charge.

Cons: The drawback of having hardwired charging station is when it comes time to move and you want to take the charger with you, you will have to hire an electrician to properly disconnect the charging unit and cap the existing wiring.
